Interview with a Legend

26 Mar

One of the most entertaining videos posted on YouTube was made by none other than Power Soccer’s own massimomarmorino. Even within the Power Soccer community, the video is not as popular as it truly deserves to be, but those who are fortunate enough to have watched it can’t help but chuckle at the mere thought of this great video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=z2XXgrPHqvs). To top it off, massimomarmorino was kind enough not only to grant this interview request, but he was also considerate enough to provide answers in Portuguese and English, so that all of his fans could enjoy the interview.

sc0obie: Your “InterviewPowersoccer” video (posted on YouTube) is very entertaining and was once featured on Power Soccer Extra. Why did you decide to make this video? How did you get this brilliant idea?

Firstly, it is a pleasure being interviewed by Power Soccer Extra… Thank you! As for the video, I was reading the forum “manergezone” the post of some users, it was the first time I saw this video. In this version they were provoking the opponent… I found it very funny. Afterwards, I saw that there were several versions of this video, always with the same purpose, namely to provoke the opponent. So I thought why not create a version for Power Soccer? It was then that this idea emerged. It was so perfect as I expected, but I think everyone understand…

sc0obie: In the video there is mention of people creating 7, 10, and even 15 teams. In all seriousness, this is still a problem. Do you have any suggestions to solve this problem?

massimomarmorino

Not 15, but 7 and up to 10 yes… It would be a good idea for Power Soccer to cancel dormant accounts. When someone creates a team, the rule should be: If your account remains dormant for six months, it will be canceled… I believe that everyone would understand!

sc0obie: You are right in saying that whenever you play a game, you run the risk of running into a cheater. You may not always lose points, but that is a strong possibility. What would you say to someone who is scared to play due to this fear?

A cheater is not a seven-headed beast; nobody should be afraid of facing a cheater. If you encounter a cheater, try not talk to him during the game. Focus solely on playing and trying to win because once you win this, you will win all. Cheaters will never cease to exist. They just have to be dealt with.

sc0obie: Please describe the “judge ghost” bug.

Actually, it is not a real bug; I just made it up to add a bit of humor to the video.

sc0obie: How happy are you now that there is no longer only one stadium to play in and the players are no longer all white?

As for the stadium, I do not really mind if Power Soccer has two or three stages. That question was just to make the video funny. Now as to Power Soccer only having white players, it was because I read about this subject once in the Portuguese forum, and the person who wrote this topic was black, so I then decided to address this issue in the video before the black community became outraged. Now things are much better.

sc0obie
: The “Boemerang” host is a very funny character. Which person in the Power Soccer community is the most similar to him?

The dictionary describes a host as the following: the one who receives the guests; owner of the house, in organizational events, it is almost always, the highest position of the company… In my opinion, who looks like the host the most is certainly powdersnow…

sc0obie: Do you have any plans to create another video?

To make a video like this, you must have a lot of patience and time. It took nearly three weeks to finish this video and it was still not as good as I wanted it…

sc0obie: What does level 99 mean to you?

An indescribable feeling, the players when they see it is a 99, they starts to feel that you are a hero, that you will be much feared by other players. When I play an official match and my opponent sees that I am a level 99, they say, “Oh my god (omg), 99?” Others say, “99? I am dead!” It is very funny! I am proud to be a level 99. When I became a 99, I lost all the fears I had of my opponents. It is very good to be a 99!

sc0obie: Do you think the updates should serve the purpose of creating competitive balance so that the lower levels can have a better chance of defeating higher-level opponents? Why or why not?

massimomarmorino: Sim !

Yes, because when a user creates a team, he desires to be the best, but if he sees that never will achieve this, then he gives up early in the game. But if he sees that his team is likely to be a great team, then for sure he will continue to play, to be even better. Now with this new upgrade and friendly cups for non-members, we need to continue levels; 99 can not continue being the last level.

sc0obie: You are one of the best players, but you do not seem to be too worried about rank points. Why is that?

It is not true to say that I am not concerned with the classification of points. I have played many games, trying to improve my position, but it is not easy. When I started playing, I did not give much importance to the classification of points, won many points, but also lost many. My best score in rank was 1,800 in November of 2007. I’m still playing hard to climb the ranks, but it is not easy!

For those who haven’t checked out massimomarmorino’s video, what are you waiting for? Enjoy at http://youtube.com/watch?v=z2XXgrPHqvs.
