History of the Populace

“On the 29th of June 2007 a prodigy was born.”
“The game was pretty different back then than it’s now. That was a time when not many used to play this game. The ranking points weren’t disabled if you didn’t play any matches. Well I know you mightn’t have noticed me saying matches and not official matches. Well it’s actually because all the matches back then were ranked. There were no friendlies thus most of us lost a lot of rp!”
“When I joined, there used to be a league but instead of being on a monthly basis, it used to be every week. It was called a Power Tour.”
“Back then the non club members weren’t given much favours as they are given nowadays. There was only one tactic for non club members and that was 3-4-3. The cups weren’t for non clubs. Well firstly there were only basic cups which only club members could join. There weren’t even official cups which meant that the basic members had noting to cheer about. Many non club members left hte game but the ones who stayed are still here.”
“But the biggest thing was that there wasn’t any 99er till then. Everyone was playing really hard to get to 99″
“Players with rp below 1500 were in the top 100. I know it’s amazing to see how much the game has flourished. There were only 2 users with rp above 2000(I think it was 2 from how much I remember) and they were Hog and Velenos.”
“But the one who was really good was was really close to me was khizarasd. He came on and started chatting with me. We became great friends.”
“After 2 months of gameplay, I had reached the lowest amount of rp which no one at that time had reached: 210 rp. But then official matches came so I quickly regrouped myself and then played official matches. Till december I had reached level 20″
“After playing a lot of times, I finally reached 1000 rp in June last year. That happened after the Euro competition that was held over here. I advanced 10 levels due to the Euro competition but it would’ve been 12 if Portugal had advanced to more levels as I was in the top 20 at that time.”
“When the clans came out I joined some clans. 2 clans in particular were joined by me which became inactive. One was deadmen and the other was –ManU– (you can still see me on –ManU–’s website by going to manchester-unitedfans.blogspot.com…).”
“I called it Pakistani Warriors. I invited Pakistanis from around the globe to join me and so they did. I remember inviting 1kaka to the clan but he somehow declined it.”
“The cups back then weren’t how they’re right now. They were knockouts. The clan cups weren’t fair as sometimes we met our own clan mates which was kindda annoying knowing the fact that if the clan captain is beaten by his own member, the clan captain’s reputation will go way down.”
“closed the clan to join TiTaNs in which I had a lot of joy and it also rapidly increased but when it opposed MB, I left it(I love MB and if ur not down with that I’ve got 2 words for ya, Marx Brothers).After a short while Hog made a clan. I quickly thought of applying for it and when the clans were integrated to the site, Hog accepted me and here I am still in CoS for about a year(will be a year in a month). I loved the clan’s motto of laziness. When they asked me for a motto, I said Laziness is the key to success.”
“I was so into foruming that I posted 50 posts per day. In about 3 weeks I reached 500 posts. But then I became aware of the forum rules and started to spam less and this is how u see my now. My work of not posting 50 per day has given me the job of Forum Admin.”
“In January I became an FA although at first i wanted to become a CA but you know my heart is green thus I will be green forever(hopefully the evils of the CAs will not lure me towards them).”
“I was the first Pakistani in the game, then I was the first Pakistani in the league(no other Pakistani entered the league). After that I was the first Pakistani to reach all levels till 66 when 1kaka went over me. All this foruming has made me the top spammer of Pakistan with me getting 3500. Actually if I remember correctly I am the first Pakistani in the forums(I might be wrong there).”
“None other asian has reached these many posts. As you can see that most of my records are in the forums so u can call me a forum master, especially for the Asians.”
“Right now I’m a level 75 with rp just about 1700. I had gone down by a lot but the league and career mode as helped me a lot. Speaking of career mode, I am right now at 76 stars. These days I just play on the weekends due to my studies but I come on the forums everyday. They are something like cigarettes to smokers, alcohol to drunk(belgians) etc. I’m addicted to them.”

Power Soccer News
The first Match Day league to finish is the Allsvenskan with AIK winning the virtual and real life league. The next league that will finish is the Russian Premier League, with Rubin Kazin ahead by one point over Spartak Moskva with three matches left. Other big matches this week, Chelsea vs. Manchester United, the Madrid Derby, FC Twente vs. Ajax (Dutch League, Ajax in 3rd 3 points behind 1st place FC Twente), and a game between two big Polish teams, Wisla Kraków vs. Legia Warsaw.

The League Cup happened the Sunday past and germanocaumo won it by goal differential over revoultion1910. Khizar3 had the lead after 3 rounds, but lost to germanocaumo in the last round 6-4, the best out of the 10 participants.

Could you write inspirational, informative, inventive or just plain funny articles for our community?
We are actively seeking new reporters. The role of a “Reporter Assistant” is to report the news of the game, from leagues to fan zones. Interview cup winners to badge makers. We are looking to cover all aspects of Power Soccer and as such we want more people to join our illustrious team. This is a key role within the community and one of the most rewarding, as all your work will be showcased to the whole community.
You should be impartial and want nothing more than to help the community. You may be asking what is needed to become a reporter? Well, all we want is good writers!
The current requirements for the position of RA are as follows
1) 14 years of age. No exceptions will be made (We will check)
2) Write a small paragraph about your hobbies and interests.
3) We recommend that you have a clean chat & site ban record (old bans will be considered)
4) Write an article that is 20 lines (roughly 300 to 400 words) in English and send it in with your application. ( The article should be your own and make it as inventive and informative as you can, the phrase, ‘ write an article about PS’, is a guideline and we prefer authors who don’t just say what PS is and rather write freely about anything they have views on or experienced on PS.)

If you are thinking of applying please note that applications can take a couple of weeks.
If you are successful you will be given the status of Probationary Reporter Assistant. You will be expected to make and have published 4 articles in 4 weeks, once this is done you will be given the status of Reporter Assistant and you will join our exclusive team.
In return for your contribution and once you have passed the Probationary review, you will be rewarded with free Club Membership for as long as you are a reporter.
