The ‘Killer’ Idea
The main competition can consist of a group stage and a main knock-out stage. The group stage could be accumulating points for wins against others in the tournament, and fixtures between players could be organised that you have to play those in your group (which would be around 4/5 people) within a week or lose 3-0 for each team you don’t play. That way, people can go through according to the group they were drawn in.
So if 256 people are left from qualifiers, there would be 64 groups of 4 teams. Or 32 groups of 8 teams. If 2 teams from each group make it through, the cup would be scaled down to the best 128, or best 64 teams that enter the knock-out stage. Each knock-out stage could give a day for opponents to play each other, and they have to play EACH OTHER in 1 match to decide who is through, and if they don’t, both teams go out and the next team goes through by default and so on.
This tournament could be held annually and advertised heavily giving the opportunity for a worldwide sense of competition and the chance to find out who is really the best player in Powerchallenge.
Also, it would give Powerchallenge a chance to make more money to help run the site if they decide to make the tournament a pay-to-play feature.
Furthermore, it will give a chance for different sections or societies of Powerchallenge to come together and form friendships and allow people to integrate more.
If this tournament was made to be annual, people would anticipate the start of it, and would encourage people to stay on and prepare, or “train” for it, and get a higher level as possible and make their players before the start.
Think of the late nigh preparations just before the competition started, people waking up in the morning shouting “Powerchallenge!”, people taking their laptops to work, hiding from their bosses, just to play the PowerWorld Cup. Grown men on their deathbed will make a last wish to play Powerchallenge.
Think of the prospects, think of the money the game would make.

Mate, the forums are the place for ideas, please don’t use this space for your personal ideas.
Is it really fair if one player is online all day and the other one doesn’t show up… So they are eliminated?…
Once again, please use the forums.

Have you thought anything about timezones? In this case, if you just randomly seed all the players into groups, most of games wont be played.
This is well made in Leagues. And Leagues are good.
